Typical lowland tequilas are produced in Cascahuín and the area is one of the oldest agave growing areas in the Tequila region. The nearby mountain gives its name to the distillery and means "mountain of light", as large mineral deposits in the soil attract lightning during thunderstorms. This tequila has vegetal and cooked agave aromas, mint, and spice flavors, with a smooth finish with peppery notes.

Tequila Cascahuin is a brand of the Rosales family (from Arenal, Jalisco), who have been distilling their own tequila since 1904 in one of the oldest agave-growing areas in the Tequila region. Colored amber by the aging process, this extra-aged tequila exudes aromas of ripened and cooked agave, honey, and ripe pineapple. Also aromas of coffee beans, dark chocolates, red fruits and orange peel. In the mouth, sweet flavors are tasted with a little astringency from the barrel and an aftertaste of cooked agave.

Cascahuin means “mountain of light”, as large mineral deposits in the ground attract lightning during electrical storms. It is a very complex tequila, with aromas of cooked, vegetable and spicy agave. On the palate it throws notes of agave, pepper and citrus, with a long finish with mineral and earthy hints.

Since then, Herradura Añejo has been aged in American white oak barrels for 25 months, an incredible 13 months in addition to industry standards. The result is a remarkably smooth amber-colored liquid leaving notes of cooked agave, toasted oak and dried fruit.
